The gryphon and wyvern mounts are popular across Blizzard branding this year, with alabaster versions on sale and the Gryphon Rider Print the limited edition art for August 2019. This art maintains the feel of the Alliance and Horde divide, with characters on recognizable faction mounts, without tying itself to a specific expansion. WoW's 15th anniversary also approaches, which could draw in players unfamiliar with recent expansions. With the influx of players interested in Classic who now have an active subscription to WoW, it makes sense to rebrand the overall WoW art to something more generic-especially as we get more and more expansions. Previously, the art for the Complete Collection shop page included images of characters from each expansion. Looking into the website code, the name of this image on the shop page includes "WoW_Rebrand_Complete" (Complete for Complete Collection) which seems to imply Blizzard is deliberately shifting towards a new marketing look for WoW. The new art features an Alliance dwarf on a gryphon, chased by a Horde troll on a wyvern. Today’s World of Warcraft may be high fantasy, but the fundamentals of its art are very down-to-earth.Blizzard has updated the art for World of Warcraft on the launcher and shop. As a result, the world’s visual identity has remained strong, vibrant, and consistent, with an attention to detail and a layer of craftsmanship that’s evident in the digital imagery that drives the Warcraft games. From the days of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, Azeroth’s look and feel has been guided by the strong direction of talented artists who are skilled in traditional media and deeply passionate about the game universe they’re supporting. World of Warcraft’s emblematic art style has helped to define this ever-expanding world over the last 15 years. Whether their goals are grand or modest, people from all ages and all walks of life can unite to accomplish them together. You experience the Azeroth’s wonders alone, or you can team up with friends or even complete strangers. You can seek out and do battle with legendary monsters, or you can roam the world to collect magical herbs. More than 100 million players have experienced Azeroth’s magic since the game’s release in 2004, and seven expansions have seen this immense world grow even larger.
